Learn the foundations of yoga at a gentle pace, all in the serenity of the outdoors. Enjoy the natural beauty of Cranaleith as a setting to stretch, move, breathe, and practice relaxing mindfulness techniques. This gentle yoga is geared towards beginners and seasoned yogis alike looking to improve flexibility, focus, and overall wellbeing. Participants will be guided through a series of accessible yoga postures and techniques, known for their therapeutic benefits. Beth offers individual hands-on attention to support a safe and nurturing yoga experience. Classes will be held outside, weather permitting. Please bring a yoga mat or beach towel, water, and dress in layers. Cook and master gardener, Leslie Porreca, RSM, will end each class with a mini-session on making energizing smoothies using some ingredients from our garden.
About the Instructors
Beth (Keeley) McDermott has been actively practicing yoga since 2013 and completed her yoga teacher training in the Spring of 2016. As a RYT-200 teacher, she enjoys teaching beginners and finds joy in offering new yogis their “a-ha” moments within their practices. She currently teaches an All Levels Hatha Flow at The Twisted Monkey in Rockledge and a Chair Yoga class at the Villages at Pine Valley in Northeast Philadelphia. Aside from teaching yoga, Beth works in the advertising industry. She resides in Fox Chase with her husband, Kevin, and their cat, Ronan.
Leslie Porreca, RSM, MSS, LCSW, is head of Cranaleith’s earth keeping, sustainability and permaculture activities, including management of the garden and kitchen. She is a former co-director at Mercy Farm at Lumen Christi, Vermont.
