Dorothy Trainer
When it was announced at a family picnic 16 years ago that Cranaleith Spiritual Center was being created, Dorothy Hutton Trainer — affectionately known as “Aunt Dot” — pondered how she could support the ministry at age 85. Whereas most people her age might’ve simply said, “I’ll pray for you,” Aunt Dot entusiastically replied, “I know! I can paint for you!” And she did, up until she went home to God on January 8, 2012, at age 101. Painting absorbed her soul in beauty, and her work, faith and example will continue to fill ours.
