Mission

PictureThe Mission of Cranaleith is to hold this oasis of natural beauty in stewardship for the wider human family, as a source of wholeness and spiritual transformation.

In partnership with the Sisters of Mercy, the Center offers a contemplative space within which the mystery of God's tender mercy can unfold, in response to the deep longings of the human spirit. We desire to make Cranaleith accessible to all who thirst, and most especially to persons who are poor.

"Let all who thirst, let them come to the water.
You who have no money come receive grain and eat." Is. 55

PictureBy providing opportunities for solitude, communal prayer and ritual, reading and reflecting, creative arts, care for the earth, spiritual direction, and retreats, we support the unfolding process.

Stunned to stillness by beauty we remember who we are and why we are here. — Rebecca Parker

We encourage and support persons involved in the works of mercy by offering the opportunity to gather at Cranaleith to probe and experience the spirituality of mercy.

Those seeking healing for the wounds and divisions in themselves, in society, and the earth itself are welcome to spend Sabbath time rediscovering rhythms of life in harmony with creation.

Educational programs are offered to assist corporate leaders — circumscribed by the competitive pressures of the marketplace — to discover creative alternatives to promote healing and transformation in the workplace and in the communities served.

We participate in the process of transforming societal consciousness by providing opportunities for dialogue and meaningful partnerships between the marginalized and those at the center of power and influence.
